Dog Days of Winter

I sometimes really miss Chicago and all the fun I had living there.  It doesn't even need to be said (but I will) that I miss my family and friends even more than the city itself.  But sitting here on a Sunday night, watching football (not the Bears) I don't miss the weather back home at all.
Apparently there has been 8 inches of snow in the Chicago area with more to come tomorrow....I am enjoying my 55 degree day with no snow at all.  Now it will get chilly here, in the 30's this week, but compared to below zero temps in the windy city I shouldn't complain.  My blood has thinned out after living here for four years and I don't deal with the cold as well as I used to.

And here is where I say that this is why my dogs are the greatest little bed warmers ever.  They are a little spoiled and as we (all three of us) slip under the covers every night I know that I won't need an extra blanket.  I don't ever sleep alone :)  When summer comes around again, hopefully sooner rather than later, I will kick the dogs to the foot of the bed.  But for now they are cheaper than turning up the heat, cuddlier than stuffed animals and more loyal and loving than any guy.
